 Registration for the 2012 Camp Year Is March 3 from 9am-12pm in the Holy Grounds Youth Center..

 Campers may register for any one or combination of weeks.

  • Camp is offered Monday-Friday from 8:30am - 4:30pm.
  • Cost is $225 per week. A non-refundable $25 registration fee, one week of tuition ($225) plus a $50 deposit for all additional weeks of registration is required to hold your space. (For example, if you register for all 7 weeks of camp, your non-refundable registration cost would be $550 or $25 + $225 + 300(6 x $50).)
  • Remaining tuition for camp ($225-$50 deposit = $175 per week) is due by June 10, 2012.
  • SPY Swimming, Foreign Language programs and Artworks will offer after-camp programs to help extend your programming day.
  • Campers will enjoy going places adventures each Tuesday and Thursday, will have two opportunities to swim in the SPY pools, enjoy the basketball gym, and more each week!
Summer 2011 Themes (As An Example)

Week 1: June

The Great Outdoors – a week of hiking, swimming, nature crafts and investigating the natural world in state parks and other natural environments.

 

Week 2: June

The Science of Arts – Make perfumes, create your own paints from natural ingredients, build a camera from scratch, glaze pottery and tie-die a bunch of stuff! Visits to cool museums and local art places!

 

Week 3: July

Investigate THIS! – Conduct an arson investigation using forensic techniques, do some MythBusting, conduct experiments to create crystals and learn how things work! Visits to the National Science Museum and other hands on locations!

 

Week 4: July

Change the World – A week filled with helping others and our community! Build picnic tables, save the bay, work with kids, help Habitat for Humanity and learn how YOU can make a difference! This week will fulfill Service Learning requirements for AA County students.

 

Week 5: July

Circus Arts! –  Clowning, magic and juggling are just the beginning! Face painting, tumbling, tightrope walking and all manner of workshops and fun! Professional clowns and magicians will be working with us to teach some performance secrets!

Week 6: July

Hands On – Ever wanted to build something out of wood? We will be learning how to use a lathe, jigsaw and other tools to build cool projects! Visits to the National Building Museum and the National Cathedral (for a gargoyle hunt!).  

Week 7: August

Water Everywhere – Get ready to get wet! Visits to water parks and outdoor swimming, water-color painting, water fights and water slides!

WHAT TO BRING
Campers will be spending most of the time each day outdoors.  On many days, they will also be getting wet.  Campers should bring a school-type backpack stocked with the following items:
*  Sunscreen
*  Hat or Cap
*  Water Bottle
*  Sunglasses
*  Rain Gear
*  Camera
*  Wallet

On BEACH, RIVER, or THEME PARK Days, Campers should ALSO bring the following items:
*  Beach Towel
*  Water Socks or Sandals
*  Swimwear (Girls) Bathing Suit w/ shorts & T-shirt or Cover-up
*  Swimwear (Boys) Swim Trunks & T-shirt
*  A complete change of dry clothes for the return trip
*  Money for meal stop
*  OPTIONAL - Money for snacks and souvenirs at Theme Parks    (lunch is provided)


WHAT TO WEAR
Wear comfortable and appropriate summer clothing - Shorts, T-shirts, Sneakers. There is NO air conditioning on the local bus. Since Campers will be playing volleyball, tennis, soccer, etc., sneakers are recommended over sandals.

FOOD
Campers should bring a bag lunch each day (except when notified or on Beach, River, and Theme Park days).  Water WILL be provided every day. Please note that due to a rising number of campers with nut allergies, we ask you to avoid bringing nuts or nut products (such as peanut butter or Reeses cups). 

AFTER CAMP ACTIVITIES:

*  Artworks Studio Mini Camps from 4:30-5:30pm all 7 weeks for $75 per week
* SPY Splash Supervised Swimming starting at 4:30 and ending by 6:30pm - 1 hour of swimming for $35/week; 2 hours of swimming for $65 per week
